Shahid Kapoor gravely injured in the fire accident on the sets of Rambo Rajkumar

The fire accident on the sets of Prabhu Deva’s Rambo Rajkumar earlier this week in Mumbai was not as minor as it is being made out to be
Shahid Kapoor is said to have got burn injuries on his back and hand, and the actor would need time to recover fully.

“We were shooting a fire sequence when the chemical used to create the fire went awry. It singed Shahid’s shoulder and hand. It could’ve been worse. Thankfully nothing serious happened,” said a source close to the film.

Meanwhile, the stunts in Rambo Rajkumar are getting more and more dare-devilish as Prabhu Deva wants them to be one-up on what Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar did in Wanted and Rowdy Rathore, respectively. “When Shahid decided to do his first action film, he had to make sure the stunts were of the never-before variety. That’s why he waited so long to do an action film and even opted out of his friend Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang,” said the source.

It is little known that Bang Bang was originally planned for  Shahid. The source said, “But then somewhere down the line Shahid preferred Prabhu’s project as his first attempt at the action genre. Bang Bang is a remake of a Tom Cruise action entertainer Knight and Day and Shahid didn’t want his stunts to be compared with Cruise. Rambo Rajkumar is an original.”

When contacted, Prabhu Deva refrained from commenting on the injury, but he mentioned that he’s taking a break with his two sons. “We’re going to Australia for a holiday. During my vacation with my kids, I’ll also unveil the first look of Girish Taurani’s debut film Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya,” he said.

Can Hrithik Roshan do hardcore action films again?

Hrithik Roshan, Bollywood’s resident Greek God is in recovery mode. The dishy hunk had to do a high-octane stunt sequence for Bang Bang - which co-stars Katrina Kaif and is a remake of Knight and Day – and unfortunately he didn’t get it quite right. Roshan jumped into the water from a height and landed wrong, which caused a serious injury to his head. He didn’t pay much heed to it for a long time, thinking it was just a bump on the noggin. But then it started bothering him; he got severe headaches and had a persistent pain in the back which just would not go away. When papa Rakesh Roshan insisted that before the next shoot schedule beta got a proper checkup, doctors found that the actor had a subdural hematoma. Hrithik has been operated on, successfully his family assures us, but it will be about 45 days before he is back to work.

But will Hrithik be able to get back into the grind of doing action again? While papa Rakesh obviously wants his son to be extra cautious while doing gravity defying stunts, at the end of the day he can only trust beta Hrithik to take the decision that is best for him, especially where action films are concerned. We hear that in Roshan’s first films too – Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai! – the newbie star hurt himself doing an important scene. We want the actor to get back to his dynamic self as soon as possible, but the question that’s gnawing at our collective psyche is, how will he manage to finish the huge pile of work accumulating on his plate. The third schedule of Bang Bang is yet to be completed and then, of course, there will be the arduous task of the film’s promotional brouhaha, as well as all the PR for Krrish 3.

With actors going out of their way to promote their films these days, the Roshan stud can’t afford to lag behind in the spreading the word game. We wish Hrithik all the strength and energy he needs to cope with the tiring work which lies ahead of him…

Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif will be stepping into the shoes of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the Bollywood remake of Knight and Day (2010). Directed by Siddharth Anand, Bang Bang sounds like a funky title – one of those typical Hindi films high on action, romance and drama. And the best part is that we spotted the hot onscreen couple having a gala time shooting for the film in the pristine Simlian island of Thailand. They seem to be catching a breath after some nonstop working. While Kat is in a goofy mood trying hard to ruin Hrithik’s pose, the Roshan dude is as calm as a clam. Kaif is sporting a very ‘lounging on the beach’ kinda style – a plain ganji and track pants. The locations look like a visual treat and we hear the rest of the portions of the film will be shot in Greece.

In Knight and Day, Tom played the role of a spy and Cameron is the girl-next-door who accidentally gets involved in the crazy mess the secret agent is entangled in. Let’s see if Siddharth Anand can make this film all the more tadkedaar…

And now, one look at the poster of Siddharth Raj Anand’s forthcoming drama Bang Bang and you can expect an explosion like no other. While Hrithik looks his debonair best, Kat looks absolutely angelic as she leans over him. The two seem to be getting intimate and desperately in love with each other. We hear the movie is the desi adaptation of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day and will release in May next year. With the combustible pairing of the Roshan lad and the gorgeous Ms Kaif, we know that the next summer will really be hotter than ever before! What say you?
