Anas Rashid and Hina Khan are looking forward to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr

Television characters – Akshara Singhania, Sooraj Rathi and Ahem Modi are really excited about Eid and they look forward to celebrate this auspicious day with their friends and family.

Thanks to hectic work schedules, TV actors hardly get time to celebrate festivals with their family and friends. But for Eid-ul-Fitr Friday, actors like Hina Khan and Anas Rashid have planned to feast on biryani and kebabs after shooting.

Hina, who plays Akshara in Star Plus’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, said: “I want to celebrate the festival with my family. I am looking forward to the feast, especially biryani and reshmi kebabs that my mother cooks.”

“It is a special day for every Muslim because after a month of Ramazan, we are blessed with the holy day of Eid. My day starts with offering namaaz to the Almighty, followed by visiting people and relishing some delicious food,” she added.

Anas, who essays the role of Sooraj in Diya aur Baati Hum, has a working day on Eid, but he wants to make sure he spends some time with his loved ones.

“We celebrate Eid every year at my place but this year it’s going to be a working Eid for me as we are shooting back-to-back. I’ll probably go out with friends for dinner or celebrate differently post shoot,” he said.

For actor Mohammad Nazim, who is seen as Ahem in Saath Nibhana Saathiya, “Eid holds a special place”.

“I spend Eid with my family and close friends. I would never miss this for anything. My fondest Eid memories are from my childhood. Our extended family used to come to our place in Punjab.

“Spending hours bonding with my cousins and siblings are memories I will always cherish. We used to have Iftar, and the best part was the food,” he added.

Did Shahrukh Khan go overboard with TV appearances for Chennai Express?

There’s nothing new about stars promoting their movies through TV shows, but Shahrukh simply overdoes it, no?
Anywhere we turn; we see Shahrukh Khan or hear about Chennai Express. The marketing genius has been relentlessly promoting his movie left, right and centre. Even with one arm in a sling, the actor doesn’t seem to let go of his enthusiasm.

While we are thrilled to see SRK so passionate about his work, don’t you think he is overdoing it a bit? This year Shahrukh made an appearance on reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, Indian Idol Junior and DID Supermoms. He danced and even attempted to sing a few lines. Hilarious and very charming is what we thought he was!

King Khan also made an appearance for Colors TV’s popular daily soap Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, where he danced with Rishab Kundra and Madhubala, and celebrated Eid with them. He took the role of a quiz master in Diya Aur Baati Hum’s contest – Sabse Bada Champion. He congratulated Suraj and Sandhya Rathi for being an ideal couple. Shahrukh has also shot a special episode playing garba with the family of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. And if that was not enough, the actor was seen on Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma. After the first episode became a hit and a viral success, SRK dared to make a second appearance with Rohit Shetty. The actor and director had a blast with Kapil Sharma and managed to leave everyone in giggles. Kapil tweeted, “@iamsrk @RohitShetty_FC THANK YOU.We rated 3.3 makin us de HIGHEST rated non fiction show. Graced n blessed wid ur presence.”

Clearly Mr Khan is on a roll promoting Chennai Express. Besides promoting for products, movie collaborations and appearances, the actor somehow managed to pull off all these eight shows with complete enthusiasm and energy and that too with an injured shoulder. Hats off to the actor, but seriously let’s not go overboard with this.

Well we really hope the movie matches up to all the hype the actor has been creating around it. Fingers crossed!
