Salman Khan’s movie blitzkrieg in 2014: Kick on Eid, Mental on Republic Day and Prabhu Deva film on Diwali!

Come next year, Salman’s Mental will release before Republic Day, Kick will hit theatres on July 27 ahead of Eid, and his third film will either be out by Diwali or Christmas

Salman Khan’s much talked film Kick, the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala, has finalised a release date – July 27, 2014. The movie will mark yet another Eid release for Salman, with 2012’s Ek Tha Tiger also having been a big Eid outing and several other movies before that.

The actor did not have a release for Eid 2013 – Shahrukh Khan took the date away for Chennai Express and also Salman’s Mental aka Jai Ho could not be completed to meet the festive date.

Mental will come out around Republic Day 2014. So, Kick will be Salman’s mid-year release. He will have two releases in the first seven months of next year. The actor’s yet untitled film helmed by Prabhu Deva, a Tips production, is aiming for a Diwali or Christmas 2014 release to end the year on a happy note.

Next year promises to be a bonanza for Salman fans who missed seeing him on the big screen this year – yes, he doesn’t have a release in 2013. So, 2014 is Salman’s year for sure!

Salman's UK visa rejected; Kick shoot delayed

 

Sajid Nadiadwala's debut directorial Kick was in the news recently after an accident took on first day of the shoot in Glasgow. And now, the shoot of the film has yet again been hindered. While now, the film has faced an unexpected problem. Lead star Salman Khan, who was suppose to join the cast and crew of Kick in UK, is unable to do so currently.

News is that the superstar's UK visa has been rejected and no reason has been provided for the same. While it's been speculated that this would be a consequence of Salman being caught up in a hit and run case, none of the reasons have been confirmed officially. The hearing of Salman's case has been adjourned to August 19, after the court charged him of culpable homicide. However, currently the makers of Kick have been trying to reapply for a visa but they will have to wait until next week for the actor to join them for the shoot.

Katrina opposite Saif in Kabir Khan's next

They say that some combinations in the world can't b replaced. One such combination was that of Kabir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger, who together created BO history like never before.

News is that the duo of Kabir Khan and Katrina Kaif has teamed up again. Kabir will be directing Katrina in Sajid Nadiadwala's untitled film. Buzz is while many top actresses were being considered for this role, it was Katrina Kaif who ultimately got the role. The film will star Saif Ali Khan in lead role.

Saif-Katrina in post-26/11 counter-terror film

Kabir Khan, whose last film Ek Tha Tiger was about the life of a RAW agent, is all set to cast Saif Ali Khan in a film about post 26/11 counter-terrorism.
The film is to be written by Hussain Zaidi, the prominent crime writer whose scrupulously researched books have earlier been the basis of Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday and Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala.

This wouldn't be the first film Saif would be doing on global terrorism. He has earlier done Rensil D'Silva's Kurbaan where he played a terrorist. In Kabir's film that Sajid Nadiadwala will produce, Saif crosses over to the other side.

Says a source, "Saif plays a counter-terrorist deputed to tackle a post-26/11 scenario. It's a kind of extension to Salman Khan's RAW agent's role in Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger. But the politics of this film would be far more topical."

Saif, we have come to know from reliable sources, would be required to undertake remarkable research to get his data on counter-insurgency right.

Says the source, "It's a different world for Saif and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Sajid has only done mass entertainers so far."

No Eid for Salman Khan this year?

Eid is a big occasion in the Khan household; with Salman out of the country, will it be the same this year?

Salman Khan will miss Eid celebrations at home this year. The actor left the country today to shoot for his film Kick with Sajid Nadiadwala. Sallu has always had grand Eid celebrations at his Bandra residence, spending time with family and friends. The actor even confessed in 2011, when he had to travel abroad for treatment for his trigeminal neuralgia, that he misses home most during festivals. Last time around, when her actor son was out of country, loving mum Salma Khan made sure that he didn’t miss the goodies that were so essential during Eid, sending them packed with him.

Looks like this year the Dabangg Khan does not have too much to celebrate. As if the pressure of his pending assignments and the mounting strain of his court case was not enough, he has worries a-plenty to deal with – his father Salim Khan will be undergoing cataract surgery during Eid, and Sallu’s own court case is weighing heavy on his mind. Those who know the Khan family feel that it’s a lean phase for Sallu, whose personal and professional life has been under greater scrutiny over the past few weeks.

It’s not just his fans who will miss the Dabangg Khan on the big screen this Eid, but also his family at home who will feel his presence on this special day. But there is one consolation for the Khan man – he will not miss mommy dearest’s home cooked biryani! Special delivery, anyone?

He says, “Yes. We’ve got the plot. We’re working on the script. Once the script is ready, we’ll definitely start working on the film.” Whoopee!

On a lighter note, whom does Salman Khan consider as the most promising new comer? Sallu feels that Alia Bhatt, Ileana D’Cruz, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra have a lot of potential. Hmmm… We wonder if he plans to rope in any of them in his next!

Salman Khan thinks love-making scene with Jacqueline Fernandez will look vulgar

Sallu has refused to do an intimate scene with Jacky in his upcoming film Kick ’coz he feels it would look cheap

Salman Khan is known to be a ladies’ man off screen, but onscreen the bhai of Bollywood follows certain ethics. For Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut, Kick, the script required Jacqueline Fernandez to seduce Sallu, who passes out on the sofa. But, we hear, when the scene was narrated to Salman, he bluntly refused to do it.

The most eligible bachelor of B-town felt that Jacky seducing him would look cheap. In fact, he even called up Sajid and asked him to remove the scene completely or re-work on it. Well, we aren’t surprised with Salman’s reaction; after all he is one actor who has stuck by the rule – no kissing. Onscreen, of course! Wink, wink!

Interestingly, Shahrukh Khan too followed the ‘no lip-lock’ rule for over two decades until he decided to make an exception for Yash Chopra’s last film, Jab Tak Hain Jaan. We wonder if Salman will follow suit.

Salman Khan to shoot Bigg Boss 7 promo next month

Reports that Shahrukh Khan will replace the Dabangg star as the host of the popular reality show fall flat as Colors has signed Sallu for its seventh season as well

Salman Khan’s popularity and his fan following is certainly unmistakable. Just when speculations were rife that Sallu’s archrival Shahrukh Khan will replace him as the host of Colors’ popular reality show Bigg Boss, we hear that

the channel just can’t do away with Sallu. A source close to bhai says, “Shahrukh was never considered for Bigg Boss. It is only Salman who could get the show amazing TRPs. Salman is also happy with the production team and has signed to do the next season.”

We agree ‘coz the way bhai has taken to the show is really remarkable. The 47-year-old superstar connects with the audience in a style that is uniquely his own. The Being Human actor has signed on the dotted line to host the seventh season of the reality show, Bigg Boss 7. In fact, the generous actor will take some time out of the London schedule of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick to shoot the promo next month. The reality show is slated to go on air in September.

Salman has once again proved that he’s indeed the big boss of the small screen too!

Salman Khan and Anees Bazmee patch up, thanks to Boney Kapoor!

The cold war between Sallu and the No Entry director has finally come to an end and the sequel No Entry Mein Entry will go on floors next year
Salman Khan and Anees Bazmee’s association resulted in two super hit films – No Entry and Ready. Unfortunately, the actor-director reportedly had some disagreement on the sets of Ready, and so upset was the superstar with Anees that he purposely kept delaying his project No Entry Mein Entry even after having green signalled it. And the Being Human actor instead allocated dates to three big banner movies – Sohail Khan’s Mental, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick and Sooraj Barjatya’s yet untitled project.

Since the sequel to the 2005 hit is going to be bigger (and we hope better too), Bazmee was busy finalising the leading ladies and other male protagonists after Salman showed keen interest in doing the film. The filmmaker was supposed to start shooting early this year but Salman’s court cases and health issues further delayed this ambitious project. And this time Bazmee couldn’t even complain!

Now, our Bandra-based khabroo informs us that all the animosity between the actor and the director is a thing of the past. We hear the Mental star and the Ready director have finally patched up, courtesy Boney Kapoor, who took the initiative of breaking the ice between the two, obviously for his own benefit. From what we hear, Boney (producer of No Entry) wants to cash in on the success of his hit comedy and wants the sequel to be made, asap!

And now, the laugh riot is expected to go on floors in June next year.
