Jacqueline Fernandez kicks it in Bollywood!

The Sri Lankan beauty is revving up her Bollywood career…and how! First up, the sultry actress has bagged Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick opposite Salman Khan. The B-town beauty left behind Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the race for the role

She came into B-town with roles and films that did not help her career – Aladin and Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai come to mind. But now, after Housefull, Murder 2 and Race 2, Jacqueline Fernandez has impressed quite a few directors and post her break-up with director Sajid Khan, her Bollywood career has taken a complete ‘U’ turn…for good, wethinks. The leggy lass seems to be making all the right moves, professionally speaking. Besides Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, Jackie will also be seen romancing Bollywood’s loverboy Ranbir Kapoor on the big screen very soon we hear, in Roy. With two big projects in her kitty, this is just the start of the gal’s journey to stardom in Bollywood.

Not long ago, Jackie’s career seemed to be going downhill fast thanks to overprotective then-beau Sajid Khan. She reportedly lost out on films like Krrish 3 and Jism 2 because of Sajid’s possessiveness and his rules about her clothes, her makeup, her roles and everything else. But now that Jackie is a free bird and taking control of her own work life, wethinks her stint in moviedom will be much more fruitful. With Sajid no longer in the picture, we are sure to see more of Jacqueline’s bold and beautiful avatar on the big screen, which will be a huge selling point with filmmakers and the audience. And as far as acting goes, she has proved her mettle in blockbuster films like Murder 2 and Housefull 2.

Looks like the race has just re-started for Jackie – and we won’t be surprised if she gives other Bollywood hotties a run for their money!

Salman Khan thinks love-making scene with Jacqueline Fernandez will look vulgar

Sallu has refused to do an intimate scene with Jacky in his upcoming film Kick ’coz he feels it would look cheap

Salman Khan is known to be a ladies’ man off screen, but onscreen the bhai of Bollywood follows certain ethics. For Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut, Kick, the script required Jacqueline Fernandez to seduce Sallu, who passes out on the sofa. But, we hear, when the scene was narrated to Salman, he bluntly refused to do it.

The most eligible bachelor of B-town felt that Jacky seducing him would look cheap. In fact, he even called up Sajid and asked him to remove the scene completely or re-work on it. Well, we aren’t surprised with Salman’s reaction; after all he is one actor who has stuck by the rule – no kissing. Onscreen, of course! Wink, wink!

Interestingly, Shahrukh Khan too followed the ‘no lip-lock’ rule for over two decades until he decided to make an exception for Yash Chopra’s last film, Jab Tak Hain Jaan. We wonder if Salman will follow suit.

IIFA 2013: Jacqueline Fernandez, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sridevi sizzle on the green carpet

It was women power in full display at IIFA 2013 as Jacqueline, Madhuri, Sridevi, Gauhar Khan and others strutted the green carpet

Jacqueline Fernandez struck the perfect pose in red, showing off her slender figure. Sridevi looked glamorous in green and Madhuri Dixit-Nene was every bit the diva in a gorgeous ethnic number. Neha Dhupia was her experimental self, while Dia Mirza looked radiant, walking arm in arm with her beau, but we really liked Gauhar Khan’s look for the evening.

The gentlemen chose black or grey – Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khuranna, Sonu Sood, Neil Nitin Mukesh (again, the Johny Bravo look is a big NO!), Anurag Basu and Zayed Khan opted for black while Prabhudeva and Anupam Kher wore grey suits. Boman Irani and Vir Das certainly were in a funny mood as they were photographed wearing turbans (the look for one of their gags, we suppose). Anurag Basu was practicing his post awards smile and wore his heart on his sleeve.

Macau certainly is shining bright this night with all the Bollywood stars descending on the green carpet.

IIFA Awards 2013: Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Sridevi to dazzle on stage!

Abhishek Bachchan will join the ladies at the Macau extravaganza along with Prabhu Deva

We told you how Amitabh Bachchan and family seemed to have buried the hatchet with Wizcraft – organisers of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. So it was expected that Big B, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will be present at this year’s extravaganza in Macau.

Abhishek might host the ceremony with Jacqueline Fernandez (not confirmed) and also perform on stage at the IIFA Awards 2013, to be held from July 4-6 at The Venetian Macao hotel. Joining Abhishek will be B-town divas Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Sridevi in acts choreographed by Remo Fernandes.

Ace choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva will also showcase some of his best moves at the 14th edition of the popular awards show.

The IIFA this year will celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. Madhuri will perform to some of her best numbers, including Ek do teen, Dance of envy and the recent Ghagra. She says, “I have never been to an IIFA before and I’m very excited to be performing on the IIFA stage for the first time. I think that it a great fit especially since we’re celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.”

Deepika too, is thrilled to be on stage at this year’s ceremony. She says, “I’ll be performing to some of my favourite songs from my recent release Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Cocktail. This will also be my first visit to Macau and I hope my fans enjoy my performance.”

It looks like it is gonna be a lot of fun at the IIFA Weekend in Macau this time! Watch this space for more updates.
