IIFA 2013: Jacqueline Fernandez, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sridevi sizzle on the green carpet

It was women power in full display at IIFA 2013 as Jacqueline, Madhuri, Sridevi, Gauhar Khan and others strutted the green carpet

Jacqueline Fernandez struck the perfect pose in red, showing off her slender figure. Sridevi looked glamorous in green and Madhuri Dixit-Nene was every bit the diva in a gorgeous ethnic number. Neha Dhupia was her experimental self, while Dia Mirza looked radiant, walking arm in arm with her beau, but we really liked Gauhar Khan’s look for the evening.

The gentlemen chose black or grey – Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khuranna, Sonu Sood, Neil Nitin Mukesh (again, the Johny Bravo look is a big NO!), Anurag Basu and Zayed Khan opted for black while Prabhudeva and Anupam Kher wore grey suits. Boman Irani and Vir Das certainly were in a funny mood as they were photographed wearing turbans (the look for one of their gags, we suppose). Anurag Basu was practicing his post awards smile and wore his heart on his sleeve.

Macau certainly is shining bright this night with all the Bollywood stars descending on the green carpet.

IIFA 2013: Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Parineeti Chopra…who sizzled the hottest?

Here’s a look at some of the most spectacular performances from B-towners at the recently concluded awards ceremony held in Macau

Bollywood is magical. Even more magical is to see divine beauties from tinseltown setting the stage on fire with their flawless dance moves. Macau experienced the charm of B-town’s naach gaana when some of the prettiest stars took to the stage to perform at the IIFA awards.

We were stunned to see Madhuri Dixit Nene shaking a leg to her best-known numbers – from Ek do teen to Dil to pagal hai and then Ghagra. The dhak-dhak beauty mesmerised one and all with her incredible stage presence. The romantic numbers transported us back to the good old days of the ’90s.

If Mads had us hooked with her spectacular moves, ’80s queen Sridevi delivered a scintillating performance as she performed to some of her favourite numbers. Dressed in a glittering lehenga choli, the 49-year-old star proved that she could reverse the biological clock. And then there was leggy beauty Deepika Padukone, who packed a solid punch with her dhamakedar act. The Cocktail babe showcased some of her signature moves from recent hit numbers, including Angrezi beats, Tum hi ho bandhu (both from Cocktail) and Balam pichkari (from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani).

Ishaaqzaadi Parineeti Chopra amazed the audiences with a spirited performance with Ayushmann Khurrana. The two looked cute together as they danced to the tune of some really romantic tracks. The others who turned the night into an explosive affair with their energetic moves included Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez,Sophie Choudhry, Dia Mirza and many more.

Want Aditya Roy Kapur, Sushant Singh Rajput and Arjun Kapoor’s denim look?

The three dudes pose in smart denim shirts on the cover of this month’s Femina
While Aditya Roy Kapur has kept it casual and smart in white shoes, Sushant Singh Rajput goes all rugged in those high top lace-ups. And we have Arjun Kapoor in a laidback avatar in cool and comfy chappals. But as you can see, there’s some great style bonding happening between the trio and all of them are sporting the same denim shirt statement. While Adi sticks to his signature romantic expression, Singh has that glint of mischief on his face and AK looks as exuberant as ever. We love the way these youth icons are displaying great camaraderie on the cover of the women’s magazine.

And yes, we find the whole denim shirt style very retro – and of course the boys are doing are a good job of excavating it from the style grave and giving it their own uber-chic sweet and sour edge. Wanna look like them, style lovers? Here are a couple of options you must try…

Alia Bhatt ups her cool quotient on Harper’s Bazaar cover!

The Student Of The Year babe looks cute on the cover of the popular fashion glossy. Tell us, do you think Alia can step up the Bollywood ladder to become the most desirable young diva?
Ever since she made her movie debut in Karan Johar’s candyfloss drama Student Of The Year, petite babe Alia Bhatt has been a style icon for many college going girls. She brought in a breath of fresh air with her arrival and her inherent spunk was visible on the big screen. And now here’s the young star moving up the success ladder, starting with the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. The cute daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt looks impressive in this picture. The strapless grey Gucci dress with a chunky belt gives Alia the air of a little princess. The leopard-print stilettos add drama. But what we like most about Alia here is her chic hairdo. Drastically different from what she sported as Shanaya in KJO’s SOTY, the stylish bob is adorable.

This year Alia will be seen in 2 States opposite Arjun Kapoor and then in Highway with the dishy Randeep Hooda, being made by Imtiaz Ali. She’s also bagged some really big brands to endorse including Coca-Cola, Maybelline and Garnier. With so many assignments in her kitty, we are sure Alia will only zoom ahead of the Bollywood movie star pack!
